Besides the traditional Christmas concert, during which it plays pieces appropriate to the season, the orchestra explores a new musical genre each year.
The repertoire includes a wide range of composers, from the oldest in the 17th century to the most contemporary, such as Whitacre (1970) or Tsilogiannis (1982).
The orchestra has also had the honor of accompanying the very young soloist Alexandra Cooreman, as well as outstanding musicians such as cellist Francis Mourey and violinist David Makhmudov.
2022 was the Camerata Orchestra’s 40th anniversary. Unfortunately, the numerous restrictions put in place to combat COVID have meant that the orchestra was not ready in time for this anniversary, but the current team is preparing for this event with dynamism and enthusiasm and hopes to be able to celebrate the ensemble’s 45th anniversary in 2027 in a fitting manner.
Although the pandemic has had a major impact on Camerata, the orchestra is gradually recovering and rising from the ashes to give increasingly ambitious concerts: pure classical music concerts, mixes of genres from classical music to world music and film scores, conference concerts, musical tale,…
