ANDREI MARTA (since 2025)
Andrei, born in Arad, Romania, stands out with a musical career that encompasses three complementary dimensions: piano, conducting, and teaching. His training and career reflect a high artistic level, nourished by an international vision.
He began playing the piano in his hometown and continued his studies at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca and then at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He then settled in Brussels, where he obtained two master’s degrees with the highest honors from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in specialized piano and accompaniment piano.
He honed his skills with figures such as Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Dominique Cornil, and Daniel Goiti, and also benefited from the advice of renowned musicians such as Jacques Rouvier and Martin Helmchen. This wealth of influences has shaped a musical personality that is both refined and passionate.
As the winner of numerous competitions (Propiano, Carl Filtsch, Brussels Conservatory Laureates Competition, etc.), he performs in prestigious venues: the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, the Southbank Centre in London, Flagey in Brussels, the hall of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and the Academia Belgica in Rome. He is invited to various festivals and masterclasses, works with young talents, and participates in international projects, particularly in China and Europe.
In addition to his work as a pianist, Andrei Marta has devoted himself to conducting orchestras, in the tradition of Sergiu Celibidache, with masters such as Konrad von Abel, Jordi Mora, and Jorma Panula. This dual vocation has led him to conduct various ensembles, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, and the Arad Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2011, he is based in Belgium, where he combines his artistic practice with a commitment to teaching. He teaches and coaches at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, while also sharing his knowledge at various academies and music institutions. His approach combines high standards, openness, and enthusiasm, all in the service of a clear mission: to make music lively and accessible to everyone.
